Description

Primal Grace is a Strong Ale aged in port barrels for just shy of a year and a half. A hefty wort full of biscuity Munich malt, wheat and bready rye was fermented on a Belgian yeast strain which provides a pleasant fruity flavour. Its time in the port barrels has added a sweetness, as well as an alcoholic warmth, and an addition of Cascara - the dried form of the cherry that grows around coffee beans - adds subtle notes of raisin and rooibos tea.

Flavours

Sweet and fruity with notes of raisin and rooibos tea

Appearance

Very dark brown

Aroma

Malty, sweet port like aroma with oak

Finish

Sweet, warm, Boozey

Cellaring

Drink within 12 months

Ingredients

MALTED BARLEY, RYE, WHEAT, Cascara, Hops, Yeast, Water

Trivia

Cascara is somewhat of an interesting ingredient on it's own - often discarded as a waste product, it is the cherry that the coffee bean grows in before harvest, but has it's own subtle flavour profile quite unlike the coffee bean within. Once dried, the traditional application is to make a tea with this, where it imparts flavours of raisin, tobacco and dried cranberry. In Primal Grace it presents these flavours in the finish, once the Port flavour recedes.

Some Vibrant Fans

A community of craft beer lovers who share our passion for bold flavours and great times. Here’s what they have to say!

Vibrant forest took their mobile bar out for our wedding party and it was excellent!

They had great beers, both on tap and a brilliant can selection, and plenty of other drinks for non-beer drinkers. They were really responsive to questions before the event, and super friendly. Thank you so much!

Joe Tait

What a great beer.

I first had a pint of Inaudible in my local tap bar in Sheffield late 2024. What a great beer. Since then I have placed orders and enjoyed the beers. I had a issue with one can exploding and was dealt with very professionally. Very interesting beers and great customer service

Micheal Evans

Fantastic beers that are perfectly brewed.

And the taproom has a great atmosphere, despite being on a busy industrial estate! Friendly, professional, knowledgeable staff who are passionate about the brewery... What more could you want? 🙂

Ben Cleary

Always a great atmosphere!

Love coming down here, even though I'm coeliac so can't even drink beer! Always a great atmosphere, people I'm with love trying the local beers and the street food is always a winner. Always top standard from Rich and Brian and always made to feel welcome with a friendly hello. Also managing covid really well, feel completely safe.

Katie coultas

Superb beers that hold up against the publicised best in the country

Their Kaleidoscope is still an outstanding beer and complemented with some of their newer beers, such as "Does it make a sound", which is a fantastic NZ Hopped IPA. Best of all, lovely people
